Berliner Zoo - Videos 2

Some wolves broke into the Brown Bear area and tried to steal some food.

Three Hippos swimming in the water.

Little birds feasting on the Hippos' food while they were away.

Ducks enjoying the fake tide.

My favourite bird of the day. You can hear me whistling to try to get his attention. It did not work.

Pretty baby bird.

Five birds hanging out. The two on the right are making out, big time.

The very exotic pond Goldfish.

A tired Lion pacing.

A panda turning his bum to the camera.

A Ferit running circles.

Seals doing laps in the pool.

Ah yes, the American bison, at home in its natural habitat of...

An 'indian' house? What!?

These little fawns have the right idea, finding the last slivers of light as the sun goes down.

Afternoon Rain Break

Since coming to Berlin it's only really rained once, until today. Very refreshing, it was needed. In the background you may be able to hear the Magnetics Fields and my coffee coming to a boil.

The Fall

I am teaching myself (very patiently) to finally learn to ride a bike. Today I had a fall. The scene:

Birds around the Dome

Around dusk, on 'Museum Island' where the Pergamon and other state museums are, I noticed a freakish ammount of birds circling the Berliner Dom. A bit dark, but you get the idea.

Antinous

Oh, Antinous, the hottest Greek God this side of Hades. On Thursday nights most state-run museums are free for the last 4 hours. I went to the Greek areas of both the Pergamon and the Egyptian museum and found Antinous in both. He kind of reminds me of a young butterball Kris Kristofferson, a la Pat Garret and Billy the Kid.

Siegessaule, Grosser Stern

On Friday I walked through Tiergarten Park and went to the Siegessaule (Victory Column) which affords a great view of the city for a mere 1,50€. 67 metres high, and 150 years old, I doubted the structural integrity of the spiraling metal stairs, but I made it. The column is smack in the middle of a roundabout called Grosser Stern.

At the tower, Berlin was best summed up by the park views:

And graffiti in the tower:

Falling Leaves in Bockler Park

Red Vines

Swans in the Urbanhafen River

Definitely Fall
